Anglesey Abbey Winter Lights

Anglesey Abbey is a pleasure to visit at any time of year, with stunning landscaped gardens planted for year-round interest, activities to keep the family entertained and the Jacobean house, steeped in history and packed with antiques, paintings and silverware.  However, in December the gardens have a whole new lease of life after dark, with the beautiful light show “Nature by Night, Nature by Light” – the Anglesey Abbey Winter Lights 2022.

From Friday 9th December to Wednesday 21st December, the grounds will be open late for guests to delight in magical projections, performances and poetry.  Those familiar with The Lost Spells and The Lost Words books written by local author Robert MacFarlane and illustrated by Jackie Morris will recognise Morris’ gorgeous nature illustrations in the projections, as well as new songs and poems from the books featured along the walking route.

The Orchard area will also be host to a collection of street food vendors ready to tempt you with some warming food and drink and keep you topped up to enjoy the light show at full strength.

Proceeds from the event go towards the upkeep of the house and the grounds, to help people and nature thrive together.  As the biggest fundraiser of the year, the Anglesey Abbey Winter Lights is a wonderful way to support the National Trust while having a fun and festive Christmassy evening.
