Cows About Cambridge

There’s always plenty to see and do in the vibrant university city of Cambridge, but this week some unusual visitors have descended to form an unusual and spectacular public art event.  Ninety beautifully decorated cows are scattered around the city, forming a sculpture trail of discovery, which is being enjoyed by locals and tourists alike – welcome to the Cows about Cambridge!

44 large cows have been individually designed and created by emerging regional artists, and 46 “mini moos” were created by community groups and schools around Cambridgeshire.  The Cows about Cambridge are bringing communities together to celebrate and rediscover Cambridge through creativity and fun until Saturday 4th September 2021.

The event is raising funds for the fantastic children’s charity, Break, who work across East Anglia to help vulnerable children on the edge of care, in care or leaving care.  Helping to provide a better future for those leaving care, the team at Break are a support network for when times are hard.  Click here to find out more about the great work this charity does.  The cows will be raising money for Break by being auctioned off at a special event on September 23rd 2021 by celebrity auctioneer Charles Hanson.

Sculpture seekers can also help by downloading the app which allows you to track your trail as you “follow the herd”, as well as unlocking sculptures to claim rewards from local establishments.  If you’d prefer a guided tour of the cows, these are available at the weekends and Wednesday evenings.
