Hamerton Zoo Reopens

As more attractions and amenities are now able to open in line with government advice, we are glad to appreciate our local surroundings once again. As of Monday June 15th, Hamerton Zoo Park is now open to the public after almost 3 months shutdown, coincidentally on their 30th Anniversary.

Only 7 miles away from Pringle Farm, Hamerton Zoo is an excellent animal park set in 25 acres of beautiful countryside. They specialise in rare, endangered and unusual animals, from Cheetahs to Wombats.

Hamerton Zoo also makes for a fantastic family day out with additional play areas, a coffee shop, picnic gardens and a railroad train.

As for many business, the lockdown period has been difficult for the park and they have been grateful for the generosity of local residents who have donated to food for the animals. Work has been going throughout the Park over the past few weeks, to extend the measures put in place before their shutdown and ensure all visitors are as safe as possible.

Although the park has only been open to members from the 15th – 17th June, they will be opening to the public for online ticket purchases from Thursday 18th June.

Social distancing is easily achievable with over a kilometre of hard paths, giving ample space to spread out and enjoy the countryside and their wonderful animals. Hand-sanitising points have also been installed at regular intervals around the site.

As well as these precautions to keep visitors at ease, their Coffee-Shop will be serving a limited range of drinks and snacks on a take-out basis. 

We are ecstatic to see so many local attractions opening and this will provide a vast array of activities for our guests to experience upon our re-opening date of the 4th July.
