National Bike Week Launches 

With many of us appreciating the simple pleasures of outdoor exercise since we have been limited during lockdown, there has been no better time to participate in National Bike Week and take in our rural Cambridgeshire surroundings.

Delivered each year by Cycling UK, in partnership in Scotland with Cycling Scotland, it encourages a quarter of a million people to join in events, rethink their everyday journeys and switch to cycling as the most convenient way to get around.

Starting from this Saturday the 6th June, there will be themed events despite the inability to join in large groups. In addition to the #7daysofcyclng which encourages people to cycle and follow a theme each day whilst sharing on social media, there are a vast array of virtual events and activities for children.

Cycling is an incredible solution to many challenges we face such as air pollution, obesity, poor mental health and traffic congestion. Cycling UK aims to help address the challenges by supporting a growing social movement, passionate about making it easier for more people to cycle.  

There are many tools on their website to help see the benefits cycling can provide, such as a car vs. bike calculator, to evaluate the positive effects economically, environmentally and physically.

Based in the idyllic countryside, The Yard @ Pringle Farm is surrounded by green areas and cycling routes. Nearby at Grafham Water offer cycle hire so you are fully equipped to explore the great outdoors. As we hope to reopen to guests from the 4th July, cycling is the perfect activity to take advantage of our beautiful surroundings whilst many shops and other attractions are still closed.
