Newmarket Racing Behind Closed Doors

Newmarket racecourse is one of our inspirations at Pringle Farm and part of our equestrian themed suites. Often referred to as the ‘headquarters of British racing’, Newmarket can ordinarily be enjoyed both in person and virtually. Since the COVID-19 outbreak has meant large gatherings are not possible, Newmarket racecourse have made the relevant changes to ensure their events can still be enjoyed.

As part of a phased return to the sport, Newmarket has launched a series of ‘behind closed doors’ events. In doing so, they will be introducing strict protocols designed to safeguard everyone’s health and wellbeing and to ensure that racing can take place safely behind closed doors.

Whilst ensuring safety measures are taking place on site, their teams and bringing bring the public into the raceday atmosphere virtually. There are many platforms available to watch the races, as an be found here.

As future autumn/winter fixtures will be evaluated on their ability to run nearer the time, these ‘behind close doors’ races will provide guaranteed entertainment from June – August. The next race will be taking place on the 24th July at Newmarket, with further races scheduled for the coming weeks.

Even though you are not able to physically head to the races, that doesn’t mean you can’t make an event out of it. Pringle Farm barns are all equipped with multiple Smart TVs, allowing you to soak up the atmosphere of the races from the comfort of your sofa – in suites named after Britain’s most loved race courses!
