Outdoor Dining in Cambridgeshire
It’s the final countdown to the lifting of restrictions on Monday 12th April and with the promise of drinking and dining out finally within reach, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite spots for outdoor dining in Cambridgeshire to enjoy during your spring stay at Pringle Farm.
The Three Tuns, Fen Drayton
The Three Tuns (pictured) is a warm and welcoming Tudor pub in Fen Drayton with excellent food and a great selection of wines, real ales and lagers to go with your meal. With an extended covered area in the garden, you can drink or dine in comfort come rain or shine. A popular choice with locals and people visiting the area, it’s a perfect spot for an alfresco lunch or dinner.
On The Lawn at The Gonville, Cambridge
On April 12th The Gonville Hotel unveils its new experience, On The Lawn, a beautiful canvas-tented fine dining and drinks area in their newly transformed, quintessentially English garden. If their delicious food isn’t enough to tempt you, you can also play a game of croquet or enjoy some live jazz on Friday and Saturday evenings.
The Roof Terrace at The Varsity Hotel, Cambridge
This iconic roof terrace is a Cambridge landmark and worth a visit for the stunning views across the city alone. The terrace serves a BBQ menu at the weekends, but if a visit to the city is on the cards, the views and the cocktails make it a perfect spot for a pre or post-dinner drink – if you’re lucky enough to get a table!
The Lodge, Duxford
The Lodge opens up its ambient garden courtyard for bookings from next week, and with covered seating options in the glasshouses and a fire pit, they have the unpredictable April weather taken care of. From grilled dishes to wood fired pizza, their Mediterranean-based menu has a little something for everyone.
Millworks, Cambridge
Millworks is a fabulous spot for brunch, lunch or dinner with a modern brasserie feel. Located on the Mill Pond in Cambridge, the views from the outside terrace are beautiful and the menu is eclectic, serving dishes from steak, to fish, to pizza.
Parker’s on the Piece at The Parker’s Tavern, Cambridge
The Parker’s Tavern have come up with a creative solution for the outdoor dining rule, and will be hosting guests on Parker’s Piece, the park adjacent to the restaurant. Describing their menu as “good, unpretentious British food” sourced from local ingredients, this new alfresco space promises to be a wonderful dining experience.
